8x6 inch storybook

“Let’s Take A Trip” serves as an ironic storybook navigating the viewer through consumer stages of d-Lysergic Acid (or LSD). I conducted research on: LSD, children’s books, and songs from many generations. Through songs and illustrations, I designed and created the journey that I believe a ‘drug user’ would experience during the effects of LSD. I themed this storybook as a “children’s book” because of the ironic, sinister humor that transpires when pairing illegal drugs with child play. The childish theme furthermore advances the idea that taking this drug is indeed immature behavior that often results in creative ideas and hallucinations.

In high school, at “The Kinkaid School” in Houston, Texas, I completed an independent study in which I studied, researched, and produced elements of children’s books (illustrations, writing, and concepts). With knowledge and interest stemming from this study, I created this “children’s book” in 2017.
